
MP’s Teacher Prize Celebrates Excellence in Education
The Member of Parliament for the Asene Akroso Manso Constituency, Hon. George Kwame Aboagye, has successfully held the MP’s Teacher Prize ceremony, an event dedicated to recognising and rewarding excellence in teaching across the constituency.
The colourful ceremony brought together Nananom, Regional and District Directors of Education, Heads of Institutions, education stakeholders, and teachers from various towns and teaching levels. Outstanding teachers were honoured for their dedication, impact, and commitment to education. Award items included motorbikes, refrigerators, television sets, laptops, plaques, and cash prizes.
In the Senior High School category, Mr. Nicholas Morkah of Atweaman Senior High School emerged as the Second Best SHS Teacher, a remarkable achievement that highlights his years of service and contribution to education. He took home a Nasco refrigerator and a commemorative plaque.

Profile of Awardee: Nicholas Morkah
Mr. Nicholas Morkah is a dedicated subject teacher at Atweaman Senior High School in Akim Manso, where he teaches both Core and Elective Mathematics. He brings 15 years of rich teaching experience to the classroom and currently serves at the rank of Assistant Director II.
Academically, he holds a Diploma in Education from the prestigious Presbyterian College of Education, where he distinguished himself as the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President. He further obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education (Mathematics) from Valley View University, strengthening his professional foundation in teaching and learning.
Before his transfer to the Eastern Region, Mr. Morkah was honoured as the Most Outstanding SRC Patron in the Ashanti Region, reflecting his passion for student leadership, mentorship, and holistic school development.
Beyond the classroom, he is the host of the educational programme “Adekyemunsem” on Akyemansa FM and also serves as the Chief Operations Officer of Akyemansa Media Limited, Akim Oda, where he plays a key role in media management, educational advocacy, community development, and national discourse.
He is a member of AspireBridge Education, an education consulting team, and serves as the Senior Vice President of the Passionate Africa Leadership Institute (PALI). Additionally, he is the Director of Royal Avenue Production, contributing to media development and community-focused content creation.
Outside education and leadership, Mr. Morkah is the Chief Executive Officer of Morkah Moni Enterprise, a growing agribusiness specialising in catfish production, demonstrating his commitment to entrepreneurship and economic development.
Mr. Nicholas Morkah is married and blessed with three children.
