The newly-elected executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress {NDC} in the Gomoa Central Constituency Central Region have called on all members of the party, particularly contestants of the just-ended Constituency elections to bury their difference and forge ahead as one formidable force to wrestle power from the ruling New Patriotic Party {NPP} in the coming 2020 general elections.
The new executives have also resolved to bring all those who lost the election on Board to share ideas on the way forward in their quest to wrestle power from the NPP.
This came to light during handing-over ceremony at the Party’s office at Gomoa Asebu.
Handing over to the new executives, the outgoing Chairman, Mr. Derrick Mbir warned that the only thing the NDC can do to win back power from the NPP in 2020 is to unite as one formidable group with a common destiny..
The newly elected Chairman, Mr. Kofi Afful who received the keys to the office also pledged his willingness to work with every member of the party, including both old and new executives to bring the party back to power in 2020.
Meanwhile, the newly-elected Dep. Secretary of the party, Mr. Michael Pele Botwey has described the Akuffo- Addo led NPP Administration as the worse government the country has witnessed since the First Republic.
Speaking to the media after the handing-over ceremony, he described all the policies introduced by the Akuffo- Addo Administration as “sugar-coated, deceptive and unachievable” calculated to brainwash the electorates.
He said with just about two years into office, the NPP has lost track and therefore lost integrity and credibility in the electorates because of its bad policies and deceptive campaign promises, he pointed out.
THE NEW Dep. Secretary he mentioned high unemployment rate, poor health delivery system, bad economic policies, rampant increment in taxes, fuel hikes among others as some of the bad policies introduced by the government.
He later assured that these failed policies by the NPP would give the NDC an edge over the NPP come the 2020 elections, considering the numerous developmental projects that were put in place by former president Mahama during his tenure of office.
