Authorities in Agona Swedru have closed down a station belonging to the Progressive Transport Owners Association for fear of any eventuality.
The closure follows complaint by some concerned individuals members of the town, as well as other transport unions and the media.
The station, which is located just behind the Calvary Crusaders Ministry Int. Church and lust opposite the Agricultural Development Bank around the TEXACO Filling station {now TORAL} was to have been created by the Chairman of the Progressive Transport Owners Association of the town, one Mr. Yaw Faya posing serious risk not only to the facilities surrounding it, but also the neighbours in the vicinity as well, in case of any emergency.
Prior to its closure, some people of the town had vowed to demonstrate against the Municipal Chief Executive Ms. Marigold Assan, the Member of Parliament for the area Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison and the Police Divisional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Directorate of the town, if nothing is down about their concern.
