The Kingmakers of Osu Traditional Area have stated that there is no chieftancy dispute in Osu in respect to the occupant of the Stool.
According to them the issue has been settled through the appropriate institutions some years ago for which evidence are available.
The Kingmakers revealed that since the installation of Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, as Osu Mantse the community has been blessed with so much developments and progress both traditionally and physical.
The Kingmakers made this known at a press briefing at the Osu Mantse Palace in Accra stated that the Stool can now boost of a CUSTOMARY LAND SECRETARIAT which has been set up in collaboration with the Administrator of Stool Lands to collate data and documentation on all properties on Osu Stool Lands.
The establishment of this office they said in one way or the other will rectify wrongful assignments in terms of land documentations and also be able to collect ground rent due the Stool.
They added that the STOOL is in court with Lands Commission and some tenants to retrieve and regularize their leases.
According to them the Community under the leadership of Nii Kinka Dowuona VI have been able to successfully performed the final funeral rites for not one but five of the departed chiefs adding that this has paved way for the community to thrive.
In terms of education, they said the Stool in collaboration with basic schools in the community, PTAs and opinion leaders have embarked to improve the standard of pupils in school.
According to the Kingmakers, there are rules and regulations governing every institution including chieftancy hence the the need for anyone interested in any chieftancy title or position to go through the proper laid down norms and practices of the community and not through the back door.
They stated that in times of litigation there is always the victor and the vanquish.
This they said that the community is poised for accelerated development and all hands are needed on deck.
‘’There is room for everyone so lets come together under the rulership of Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI and The Osu Stool to serve with our hearts, strength and resources‘’ they noted.
They urged the good people of Osu to reason together and forget about the needless agitations on issues that will not help the development of Osu.
‘’If one is not satisfied about any rulings, the appropriate law courts including the Judicial Committees are available and until the final determination of the case the recognize Chief remains in charge and all respect and courtesies must be accorded‘’ they stated.
‘’We wish to state and its evident that Osu is peaceful ever since we installed Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI and it will remain as such.
They entreat the security agencies to question any character who assumes any chieftancy position to foment trouble and confusion in the community and request that anyone who causes trouble be arrested and prosecuted.
They added that traditional Area will support the security agencies to maintain peace and order in Osu before, during and after the Homowo celebration adding that their doors are always opened and ready to serve the Osu Traditional Area.
