Odauhene Daasebre Ofosu Kawbi Ayebiawhɛ has called on the government to rename the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency to Etwereso Ofoase Ayirebi constituency.
Speaking during the installation of Nana OSei Afrifa as the Twafohene of Akyem Etwereso in the Akyemansa District Eastern Region,the Chief noted that the district comprises Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku, and Akyem Bosome people.
However, he lamented that the name “Akyem Abuakwa” has been omitted from the constituency’s name, despite the group having the largest land portion in the area.
As the only Omanhene in the area, Daasebre Ofosu Kawbi Ayebiahwɛ emphasized the need for fairness.
He advised chiefs and politicians to work together to develop the district, urging chiefs to be open to all political parties and not selective.
He also encouraged politicians to put aside their party differences and work together for the district’s development.
The Chief urged the newly installed Chief Nana Osei Afrifa to emulate him and bring development to the town.
The District Chief Executive of Akyemansa District promised to collaborate with the Odauhene to complete projects initiated by the previous government.
She emphasized her commitment to development and pledged to work with the MP to bring progress to the district, commending the Odauhene for his efforts in developing the area.
