A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress {NDC} and former District Chief Executive for Gomoa East in the Central Region contesting the Chairmanship of the party in the Gomoa Central Constituency, Hon. Noses Jehu-Appiah has disclosed that his vision of contesting for the position is to bring unity in the party, by cementing all the petty cracks within the rank and file in the party in the Constituency.
Speaking to ghananews.com at the heat of the election, Hon. Jehu-Appiah admitted that the NDC lost the confidence of even some of its own members and supporters during the last general elections because of some petty squabbles within some of its members, he has however assured that his administration would work to ensure that all those petty cracks are ironed out, to ensure total victory for the party, come 2020.
The Gomoa Central and Assin South remains the only two constituencies in the country where the NDC has failed to organize its election at the time of filing this report, with some contestant in Gomoa Central attributing the failure to some of the old executives who they accuse of doing every possible thing in their power to hold on to their position by hook or crook by delaying the elections.
According to Some of the aspirant, including the former DCE Jehu-Appiah, they are not perturbed by the scheme been adopted by the old executives, and have vowed to ensure that the NDC regains the confidence of the people back in 2020.
Meanwhile, an aspiring communication officer for the constituency, Mr. Ibrahim Obeng has assured that he would work effectively to propagate the ideologies and policies of the party to the constituents for them to better understand the vision of the party, when voted into office.
He blamed the party’s defeat in the last elections to lack of proper communication and dissemination of the policies of the party to the grassroots.
In a related development, the aspiring Constituency Organizer of the party, Alhaji Aliu Haruna has appealed to all and sundry to do away with and factionalism in the party and put their acts together to ensure that victory becomes the NDC’s, come 2020.
He pointed out that of his major priorities when voted into power as organizer would be bringing everybody on board, particularly the youth, to strengthen the support base of the party.
