Parents, especially Christians have been urged not to hesitate to instill moral discipline in their children to ensure that they grow to become responsible adults in the future.
The Bishop of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. John Kweku Buabeng Odoom who gave the admonishing at a Camp Meeting in Agona Swedru pointed out that the home of every child impacts and reflects in the future life of that person, and as such there is therefore the need for parents to instill high moral discipline in their children.
Rt. Rev. Kweku Buabeng Odoom again reiterated the call during the launching of the Centenary Anniversary Celebration of the Ebenezer Methodist Church at Gomoa Ekwamkrom over the weekend.
He also called on members of the Church to do away with ‘’I don’t care’’ attitude and contribute their quota to the development of the Church.
The year long celebration is on the theme ‘’Hundred Years of Discipleship, the Impact on the Society, Sustaining Our Gains in Community Development.’’
In a related development, the minister in charge of the Musama Church Int. at Gomoa Achiase, Pastor Ernest Morrison Quansah and the minister in charge of the Agona Swedru branch of the Universal Church of Jesus Christ, Pastor Augustine Baidoo have advised Christians to inculcate in them the habit of reading the scriptures, rather than allowing themselves to be wooed by some unscrupulous self styled men of God who hide behind the scriptures to dupe them.
According to both men of God, modern day Christians have become so lazy in studying the scriptures, and have resorted to chasing after signs and miracles from some self acclaimed prophets whose only intention is not to preach about salvation, but to amass wealth for themselves through deception.
They said the situation has become so because the modern day Christians always want to hear prophecies about themselves.
