Parliament Chapel International has embarked on a massive clean-up exercise at Darkuman Official Town and its surrounding communities as part of activities marking its 20th Anniversary Celebration and to complement government’s efforts of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa.
Led by Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, Founder and Leader of the church, the members cleaned choked gutters and collected rubbish around the market through streets of Darkuman, Official Town, and Odorkor.
Apostle Francis Amoako Attah said the church decided to do the exercise not only to mark its 20th Anniversary but also to support the government’s clean Ghana campaign.
According to him the church had made it a policy each year to identify an issue of national concern with the view of playing a role to help achieve social order for sustained national development.
He also averred that the Church is focusing on creating a conducive environment for people and hence have developed various strategies to run a campaign on environmental care.
Apostle Francis Amoako Attah said the campaign was one of the many of the church-state partnership ventures captured in the church’s vision for the next 20 years.
He also said the exercise was used to win souls and to possess the nations-equipping the church to transform every sphere of society with values and principles of the Kingdom.
“This approach seeks to instil in members the discipline to be physically responsible and involve in the care and cleaning of the environment,” Apostle Francis Amoako Attah said.
He appealed to Ghanaians to take environmental care very seriously and contribute effectively since the government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility.
In another development, the Church also held a Mega Float as part of activities to mark its 20th Anniversary Celebration.
The Float was used to invite the general public to their Major Anniversary Event Dubbed; “A Year By This Time,” which was held last Sunday October 20, 2019 at the Church Auditorium in Darkuman official Town.
The Float which was taken through some Principal Streets of Accra, saw Leaders, Head Pastors of the various branches, Church Elders, Members, the Youth all singing to melodious Gospel Songs as they distribute flyers and placards with Godly messages that inspire Hope for the Kingdom.
According to him, there is nothing God cannot do, hence the call is on all to follow Christ, believe in Him and hope for better things; urging the youth to work for God in their youthfulness so that at the end the Heavens will be theirs.
