Passengers bound for Accra were stranded in Akyem Oda.

Passengers in Akyem Oda traveling to Accra were left stranded after drivers refused to convey them.

This was because some of their vehicles had been locked up by the Birim Central Municipal Assembly Task Force.

In protest, the drivers blocked the entrance of the Akyem Oda Central Market to register their displeasure over the locking of their vehicles.

Speaking to Oyerepa TV, the National Treasure, Nana Asare Gyapong I, explained that the MCE had earlier directed that only five Accra-bound vehicles be allowed to load at the station at a time.

However, they pleaded with the MCE to increase the number to ten, which he agreed to.

He urged the drivers to respect the agreement with the MCE, noting that the Assembly would soon open the main market for traders to operate, after which all vehicles would be allowed to park at the main station.

He further advised that only ten vehicles should load at the station at a time, while the rest either find alternative parking or move to the Premier Station.

The Akyem Oda MTTD Divisional Commander, ASP Mrs. Agnes Aboagye, also urged the drivers to be law-abiding and patient with the authorities, assuring them that normal operations would resume soon.
