Pastors have been warned to desist from the habit of giving false prophecies about prominent personalities in the country in an attempt to gain cheap popularity and fame.
The warning was given by the Gomoa Ekroful branch minister of the 12 Apostles Church in the Central Region, Prophet Kweku Peter in reaction to recent prophecies by some pastors the dance hall artiste Shatta Wale will die by December this year, following the demise of his colleague, Ebony few weeks ago.
He recounted many instances where some self-styled prophets have come out to claim to have given prophecies after the demise of prominent personalities in the country.
He however perceived the development to be a means of not only gaining cheap popularity by these false prophets, but also a way of sending fears among the purported victims so as to make money from them.
He has therefore called on all religious bodies to condemn the development.
