‘Prez. Daughter’ Arrested On Her Honeymoon; After Defrauding Tamale Market Women

A thirty-Nine-year-old lady, Saharatu Adams Lizy has been arrested by the security operatives during her honeymoon after her wedding at the Bethel Prayer Ministry International opposite the Kumasi Police Deport at Anomangye-Mpatasie.

According to information, she was trailed to a secret location while on honeymoon where she was arrested.
Saharatu Adams Lizy has been posing as the daughter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and defrauded hundreds of women within the Tamale Metropolis.

The suspect allegedly conspired with one Fuseini Adams, aged 49, Alhassan Karim, 54 and defrauded the market of an amount running into several millions of Ghana cedis under the guise of procuring foodstuffs from them meant for the Ghana School Feeding Programme.

According to the facts of the case, Saharatu Adams Lizy in a chauffeur-driven convoy of Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles in June 2017 visited Tamale and met his victims who are mostly market women claiming she had been sent by the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo to buy foodstuff from them.
She claimed the items were to be channeled through an unnamed private company for both export and supplies to the Ghana School Feeding programme.

The market women without hesitation started supplying her with maize, beans, sorghum among others which they carted through articulator trucks to the suspect and her accomplices in Accra.

According to the facts, four of the victims supplied foodstuffs worth GH¢ 1,398,420, GH¢362,800, GH¢31,000 and GH¢177,000 respectively among hundreds of the women who fell victim to the scam.
Meanwhile, after the delivery of the items, the accused kept promising to pay on return of the First Lady whom she claimed was out of the country on official duties.

She went into hiding thereafter together with her accomplices.
However, upon tip-off of her wedding at the Bethel Prayer Ministry International, security personnel who were searching for her over the period, trailed her to her arrest.

She led the police to arrest two of her accomplices who are currently facing trial with her.
She has been provisionally charged with eight counts of conspiracy to defraud by false pretences and defrauding by false pretences and was yesterday arraigned before Court.
