Residents of Akyem Asene demonstrate against their MP for deception.

Citizens of Akyem Asene in the Asene Manso Akroso District, Eastern Region, have demonstrated against their Member of Parliament, Hon. George Kwame Aboagye, for failing to fulfill his promise to develop their town.

The protesters, armed with signs and placards, marched through the town, voicing their frustrations and disappointment with their MP’s failure to deliver on promised development projects.

At the forefront of the protest was the issue of Eden River bridge that connected Akyem Asene to other towns.

The MP had promised to fix the bridge, which had been in a state of disrepair for years, but nothing had been done.

The protesters claimed that the MP’s failure to fulfill this promise had caused them immense hardship, making it difficult for them to access essential services and conduct their daily business.

They accused the MP of constructing a clinic at a football pitch, disrupting their recreational space, and failing to fulfill his promise to build an astroturf at a different location.

According to the protesters, the MP had promised to build the astroturf in different locations, but up till now, there’s nothing to show for it.

Another project that had been left unfinished was the library project started by the previous MP in 2011 Hon. Owusu Boateng.

The protesters believed that if the current MP was truly committed to development, he would have completed the project by now. Instead, it remained abandoned, a testament to the MP’s failure to follow through on existing projects.

As the protesters marched through the town, they called on the MP Hon. George Kwame Aboagye to take immediate action to address their concerns.

They demanded that he complete the library project, fix the bridge, and deliver on his other promises.

The protesters made it clear that they would not be silenced or ignored, and that they would continue to hold their MP accountable for his actions.

The demonstration was a clear message to the MP that the citizens of Akyem Asene would no longer tolerate empty promises and broken commitments.

They deserved better, and they would fight for it.
