The leader of the Women’ Fellowship of the Damascus Christian Ministry at Agona Swedru in the Central Region, Mrs. Elizabeth Gyasi Acheampong has expressed grave concern about the habit of using strong pomades by some mothers on their children to keep their skin light.
She said most children whose mothers apply such highly chemically produced pomades on them are beginning to show signs of skin discoloring as a result of those pomades, a situation she said is more common among women who bleach their skin.
Mrs. Elizabeth Dyasi Acheampong who expressed the concern to ghananews.com said the practice should be a concern to all,as it poses serious health risk to the innocent children.
