Tears At Send-Off Sermon

It was a scene of mourning when a send-off Church service was held for the minister in charge of the Agona Nkum branch of the Musama Disco Christo Church, Pastor Justice Ato Kwamena Baidoo over the weekend.

No amount of consolation could control the congregation, mostly women and children for the departure of their beloved Pastor.

Pastor Justice Baidoo could not hold his tears either when he took the pulpit to deliver his final speech to the congregation, forcing him to recede to his seat after some few minutes.

In his brief message, he admonished the Church to give their maximum support to whoever would be brought to replace him.

Dignitaries invited to the occasion became dump-founded by the love shown to the pastor by the congregation, leaving most to conclude that he is a true man of God whose legacy would not only remain in the memories of the congregation of the Church, but the whole of the Nkum flock as well.

Various items ranging from a refrigerator to ironing board, electric standing fan, assorted clothes, food stuffs and other undisclosed items were later showered on him as gifts from the sorrowful members of the church.

Speaking to the media at the sidelines of the ceremony, an elder of the church, Mr. James Aurthur said the transfer of Pastor Baidoo to Afienya in the Tema district came as a shock to the whole church, and all attempt to persuade the headquarters to allow him to remain in the town for a few years proved futile.

According to the church elder, within the three years that Pastor Baidoo was brought to head the church at, he was able to raise a complete Church building to the roofing level when the old building had completely collapsed before his arrival as the Church was worshiping in a classroom at the time, lobbied some philanthropist to people purchased a set of musical instrument for the church and also revamped the church’s choir which had become redundant and non-existent.
