The Chief of Akyem Akokoaso promises to reward students who excel in BECE exams.

The Chief of Akyem Akokoaso in the Akyemansa District, Eastern Region, Nana Asare Bediako III has promised to support Junior High School (JHS) students who score aggregates 6 to 12 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to further their education in Senior High School (SHS).

As part of efforts to motivate the students, the Chief donated mathematical sets to them and advised them to take their lessons seriously to pass the BECE successfully.

Nana Asare Bediako III expressed his motivation stemmed from a recent speech and prize-giving day at Akokoaso SHS, where he was disappointed to see only one student from Akokoaso among the awardees.

He urged the students to focus on their studies, avoid staying out late, and revise their notes thoroughly.

The Chief’s promise was supported by Nana Agyeiwaa Okodie, the Queen of the town who encouraged the students to be courageous and avoid distractions, particularly romantic relationships, to focus on their studies.

She also promised to add to the Chief’s support for students who score aggregates 6 to 12.

The Head Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Akyem Akokoaso Rev. Wuni Naboo, commended the Chief’s initiative, emphasizing that traditional authorities play a vital role in supporting education.

He advised the students to stay calm and focus on their studies, assuring them that they have been well-prepared for the exams.
