The Ghana Revenue Authority in collaboration with the Ghana Police have clamped down Everyday Paper Manufacturing company Limited being operated by the Chinese for causing financial loss to the state.
The company is mainly into tissue manufacturing located at Senya Breku in the Central Region who are using Ghanaian textbooks procured by the government to be distributed to schools in the country as their main source of raw material.
Some of the textbooks include, Mathematics, English Language, Interested Science and dictionaries.
In an interview with Oman Fm’s Nana Ampofo Ayeh, Mr Hunry Blanksford Sam, Coordinator of the Special Revenue Mobilization Taskforce said the GRA gathered information by informant and Counter Intelligence Unit, GRA that led to the arrest of three persons two Chinese and Ghanaian who is an interpreter for the Chinese and are currently helping in investigations.
Mr Blanksford Sam indicated that the Ghana Revenue Authority is not interested in closing down any business in the country but they are only interested in ensuring that companies operating in the country are doing the right thing.
According to him the company has also not honour their tax obligation to the state and they are going to confiscated their properties to defray the cost.
He further started that the Police is currently investigating where they get the textbooks for their operations.
