The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has been honoured by an MPhil student and an alumnus of the University for his Firmness and outstanding leadership skills in managing UEW’s student population of 85,004.
Rev. Fr. Prof. Afful-Broni was presented with a lovely portrait of himself and a poetic pull-up banner on leadership on Thursday, 30th January, 2020 at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
Renowned International Evangelist and Director, Lausanne Younger Leaders Generation initiative, Rev. Nana Yaw Offei Awuku, who presented the items on behalf of a seven-member delegation, congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on his dedication to humanity and urged him to remain focused in order to achieve his goal for the University.
“I must commend you that upon all the news in the media, you stayed focused in achieving your goals. To manage a student population of 85,004 is a mark of a resolute leader and I hope that the Vice Chancellors Ghana (VCG) honours you one day for your good works,” Rev. Awuku extolled.
Rev. Fr. Prof. Afful-Broni who was touched by the gesture expressed gratitude to the delegation and the outside world for the recognition given him.
Among the University lecturers who joined the delegation were the President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) – UEW Chapter, Mr. Eric Sekyi Nketiah; Vice-Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Juliana Daniels; and Senior Lecturer, Mr. Alhassan Bawa Salifu.
Other members of the delegation were some Graduate students of UEW, Rev. Prince Ansah, Mr. Bright Obeng Aboakye and Alumnus, Wilberforce Sarpon.
