Members of Christian Divine Church have registered their unwavering support for Apostle Ebenezer Boahen, the chairman and leader of the church.
This comes after the members sighted some false media reportages alleging that the chairman was being chased by the church members for financial malpractice.
According to the members, the allegations are part of efforts by a bitter and disappointed regime to tarnish the reputation of the chairman and to subject him to public ridicule and shame.
The members hinted that those behind this agenda are only displaying hate for the chairman whose work they have distracted for the past three years for reasons best known to them.
“We have not chased our Chairman and will do no such. No one also arrested him. He was only invited by the police.
We were in the church at Tarkwa when the police came so we all joined him to the station where his statement was taken and he came back home. Our chairman has served well since his election and we appreciate and respect the office he is occupying because of the late Prophet Apostle John Taylor our founder and his wife.
We will not subject Apostle Boahen to shame by chasing him for what is not true. We know he is innocent and we will stand with him”, an elder said.
A member of the youth leadership said “we know those behind this move. They don’t like the man of God and we know it so we are not surprised this palpable untruth is being peddled against him. This has been happening for the past three years. It’s been one accusation here and there.
We the members of the church are not accusing the chairman because we know how straight he has been since he assumed office.
The plan is to disgrace and oust him from office in shame and we will not support it for any reason. There is no church member anywhere who supports it apart from the less than five (5) persons who are behind it. We are not perturbed.”
The members stressed that they will continue to support the chairman in discharging his duties in the sacrosanct office he occupies until things fall in their right places for a deserving retirement and proper transitioning.
They, therefore, called on the general public to discredit the false media reports as they contained no truth and called on all church members nationwide to pray for Apostle Ebenezer Boahen to continue serving in his capacity as chairman and leader of the church peacefully.
