The Nkawkaw Akuajoo circuit of the Christ Apostolic Church International has celebrated its 20th anniversary with thanksgiving and gratitude to the Almighty God for his goodness and mercies unto the church since its inception.
The ceremony which was colorfully marked was attended by all twelve sub branches formed out of the Akuajoo church within the two decades.
Addressing journalists after the ceremony, the presiding elder for the Nkawkaw Akuajoo circuit, Mr. E.Y. Tawiah noted that the twenty years life of the church even though has been fruitful has also been accompanied with its own challenges such public scare of superstitions, and many other difficulties but hastened to add that fervent prayers and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has brought the church thus far.
“He assured the church that even though serving the lord is a very difficult task, he promised to make the church great.
Elder E.K. Ahenkrah, the area deacon of the church also on his part expressed his gratitude to Rev. Eric Owusu Ansah, his the circuit and local management and the entire church for the wonderful organisation of anniversary.
He further noted that, the pride and strength of the church can be attributed to the outstanding efforts of the founding leaders especially elder E.Y. Tawiah and others for the fervent prayers invested in the church by then which has been the solid foundation of the church until the coming of pastor Peter Ofori who was the first minister to head the Akuajoo church.
“God’s church has since then been like the sinapi seed which started very small but has grown to become this big in the two decades just as Job said in the good book. We continue to encourage the pastor and his leaders to continue to make soul winning the major priority of the church since that is the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ”* .He said.
The circuit pastor of the Akuajoo assembly and area financial secretary of the church, Rev. Eric Owusu Ansah, speaking to journalists said, the the church has a rich history of encountering mountainous challenges but has since endured and worked by faith to surmount them until now.
According to him the theme for the anniversary was *Forget the former things* as inscribed in the book of Isaiah 43:18 and 19 when God told the children of Israel to put away the past conditions that hindered them from advancing in life because He the Lord was about to do new things that will baffle them.
Rev. Owusu Ansah further indicated that even though he has been heading the church for four years, he and his leaders have had to work hard to grow, adding that because of that, the Akuajoo circuit has grown and birthed twelve other branches including the Asuogya, Asuboni number 1and 2, Accra town, Tradoso and Nkawkawkuma branches amongst others with over two thousand congregation population.
He however stated that the church envisages that in the next decade, the church will have established schools, health facilities and other relevant institutions to raise potent men and women to carry on the mantle.
*”I will give thanks to God for how far he has brought us and encourage my members to remain steadfast in him because he is forever faithful. I will also take this opportunity to appeal to all Ghanaians to remain calm while we enter the election season and commit everything to God in prayer”* .He said.
Miss Yvonne Kwarteng a member of the church also admitted that the former wooden nature of the church structure nearly discouraged she and her siblings from fellowshipping at the place. However she encouraged herself in the lord and has since been with the church for the past ten years and has enjoyed greater blessings from the lord.
