Automobile Dealers Union Ghana Donates to the National Chief Imam

The Automobile Dealers Union Ghana (ADUG) has donated various food items to the office of the National Chief Imam in Accra.

The items included bags of rice, cartons of canned fish, packs of oil and truck of satchet water.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Union, the President of the Union. Mr. Eric Kwaku Boateng said the gesture forms part of the Union’s support towards the Ramadan.

According to him, most people particularly the less-privileged in various parts of communities in Accra earn their daily means of survival from the Chief Imam’s palace hence the need to support them to help make food available to whoever visits them especially at a time when lots of people are facing economic difficulties as a result of the devastating impact of COVID-19 pandemc which is fast ravaging the world economies.

The Union also lauded the efforts of the National Chief Imam who has been described as ‘Father for all’ in promoting peace and unity amongst various sections of Ghanaian communities for decades with a high level of integrity and dedication to humanity.

They also pledged to continuously support the National Chief Imam’s office during Islamic festivities to enable them to also extend a hand to the ‘have not’ in society.

The National Chief Imam, Dr. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Shaributu thanked the Union for the gesture.

He offered prayers for members of the Union and asked for God’s protection and guidance in all aspects of their work especially the thought of supporting the less-priviledged in society despite the challenges businesses continue to face due to the deadly disease.

“Your donation has come at the right time when we are still praying and fasting. God should bless you and eliminate this deadly disease for you to be able to work efectively”. he added

The Islamic cleric who is a global icon for peace prayed for Ghana and its neighbouring countries stating that inspite of the differences in individuals religious persuasions, Ghanaians continue to live peacefully among themselves.
