MP for Akyem Oda Constituency urges residents to trust and patronize the Akyem Oda Government Hospital.

The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda Constituency, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has called on citizens of Akyem Oda and its environs to have confidence in the Akyem Government Hospital.

Speaking to journalists after visiting the hospital’s maternity ward, the MP expressed his joy at the upgrade of the facilities.

The upgrading was carried out by him during his tenure as Deputy Minister for Health.

He noted that anyone who visits the facility now might think they are in one of the biggest hospitals in Accra or Kumasi because of the modern equipment available.

According to him, the hospital is almost one hundred years old but has not seen any major renovation, apart from small contributions from philanthropists to give it a facelift.

He urged government to fulfill its promises to the hospital.

He added that some people are afraid to visit because they assume the hospital lacks equipment, but he advised residents to prioritize it since the hospital can now boast of all the modern equipment needed.

He commended all who have been supporting the hospital and encouraged them to continue.

The Medical Superintendent, Dr. Kwabena Awuku, appealed to government to recruit more staff to ease the workload.

He also called on government to regularize casual workers so they can become full-time staff.

He expressed appreciation to all who contributed to the facility’s upgrade.
