Jack Andrews Dotsey, PhD and Kingdom Kededor Avisseh Inaugurated in Joint Investiture for Rotary International District 9104

In a grand ceremony held at The Premier Event Centre (The Dome), University of Ghana, Legon, Jack Andrews Dotsey, PhD and Kingdom Kededor Avisseh were officially inaugurated as District Governor (DG) and District Rotaract Representative (DRR) for Rotary International District 9104 for the 2026-27 Rotary year.

The milestone event brought together leaders, changemakers, and partners dedicated to humanitarian service under the inspiring Rotary International President’s message: “Create Lasting Impact”.
During the ceremony, both DG Dr. Dotsey and DRR Kingdom outlined a bold, collaborative vision for the district, emphasizing strategic youth leadership, community empowerment, and high-impact sustainable development.

DG Dr. Dotsey is a member of the Rotary Club of Accra—the first Rotary club to be chartered in Ghana. A transformational educator and management professional, he is heavily involved in national youth development through the Digital Youth Village project and the University of Ghana Annual New Year School & Conference. Succeeding a legacy of dedicated leadership, his tenure will focus on maximizing local service delivery while strengthening international peacebuilding and humanitarian networks.
DRR Kingdom Kededor Avisseh, an accomplished leader with a proven track record of empowering clubs and fostering collaborative youth leadership, assumes office with a strategic focus on positioning Rotaract as a driving force for grassroots community transformation.

Strategic Initiatives Alignment & Call to Corporate Ghana

To demonstrate how Rotary plans to actively support national development during the 2026-27 fiscal year, the District announced an ambitious portfolio of strategic projects. To fully execute these critical humanitarian interventions, the District plans to mobilize over USD 1,000,000 in funding.
The major initiatives announced include:
* The District Library Project: Constructing and equipping libraries across at least 20 schools to elevate child literacy standards.
* Operation Eradicate Malaria from Ghana: Deploying targeted healthcare interventions to drastically reduce the national malaria burden.
* The Commonwealth Youth Peace Project & Rotaract-Youth Leadership Academy: Empowering young leaders with mediation, peacebuilding, and civic responsibility skills.
* The National Humanitarian Dialogue & Policy Practice Project: Bridging the gap between immediate humanitarian service and sustainable national policy to drive economic resilience.
* District 9104 Cultural Heritage Preservation and Promotion Initiative: Fostering ecological responsibility alongside cultural and environmental site conservation.
* Operation Document Rotary Ghana’s Contribution: Comprehensive archiving of the extensive social and structural legacy of the organization throughout Ghana’s history.

District leadership used the occasion to strongly call on Corporate Ghana, development partners, and financial institutions to partner with Rotary in co-funding and executing these high-impact projects, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development across the country.

Keynote Addresses and High-Profile Attendance
The Guest Speaker, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, delivered a powerful keynote address emphasizing the critical role of institutional alignment, multi-sector partnerships, and sustainable resource mobilization in driving national growth. The event was also honored by the presence of the Special Guest of Honour, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, who was represented at the ceremony. In a speech delivered on his behalf, the Governor’s representative highly commended the organization and strongly encouraged Ghanaian institutions to strictly abide by Rotary’s Four-Way Test—emphasizing truth, fairness, goodwill, and mutual benefit as essential pillars for building ethical, transparent, and resilient corporate environments.
The high-profile ceremony featured the formal leadership handover and was graced by Past District Governors (PDGs), Past District Rotaract Representatives (PDRRs), Rotarians, Rotaractors, and distinguished guests from across Ghana and beyond.

Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in their communities, and in themselves. Members carry out projects focused on areas such as peacebuilding, disease prevention, education, clean water, maternal and child health, environmental sustainability, and community development. Rotary International District 9104 specifically comprises all the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in Ghana, steering localized sustainable projects that align with these global causes to build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world.
