NPP Sets July 19 Deadline for Overseas Chapter Elections Ahead of Branch Polls

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed all its overseas chapters to conclude their internal chapter elections by Sunday, July 19, 2026, warning that any chapter that fails to meet the deadline will be barred from participating in the upcoming branch elections.

The directive was contained in an advisory issued by the Party’s Director of Finance and Administration (National Representative), Mr William Yamoah, to Branch Steering Committees through their respective Branch Secretaries.

According to the advisory, the directive is in line with the rules and regulations governing the NPP’s 2026 internal elections, which were approved by the National Council.

The party cautioned that any chapter unable to complete its elections within the stipulated period would become ineligible to participate in the branch elections scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026.

The advisory further instructed Branch Steering Committees to immediately communicate the directive to all Chapter Executive Committees and ensure strict adherence to the election timetable.

Mr Yamoah expressed confidence in the cooperation of party officials, urging them to remain committed to the NPP’s constitutional processes and the successful conduct of the internal electoral exercise.

Copies of the advisory were also forwarded to the General Secretary, the NPP’s 2024 Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Director of International Affairs.
