The Chief of Old Ashongman within the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Antieh Tawiah Klagbalo II has underscored the need for the people of the area to stand united towards the total developement of the area.
The chief noted that the area can not achieve its developmental agenda in the absence of unity among it members.
Nii Klahbolo II made this known during the Old Ashongman 2026 Homowo festival celebration in the area last Saturday.
The celebration brought together hundreds of people, including traditional leaders, government officials, and politicians.
The Old Ashongman chief thanked the entire members of the area for their tremendous support for the successful celebrations.
Nii Klagbalo II further advised the people in the community to bury their various differences and rally behind towards the total growth of the town.
He seized the opportunity and advised the teeming youth in the community to shun all criminal acts and rather plan towards the success of their future.
He called on President John Dramani Mahama to, as a matte of urgency, ensure that compensation meant to the Nii Odai where he hails as chief was compensated over their land at Kwabenya
“Thousand acres of our land was acquired by the State for years with no compensation given to us as members of the Nii Odai Ntwo family and its therefore our prayer that the current administration led by President John Dramani Mahama listens to our cries and settle us” he disclosed.
The chief called for the need of their involvement as members with regards to any developmental project on their land acquired by the State for the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC).
“Our land was given to the government years for a purpose and it will be essential that the land is given back to us as a family rather than the State selling it out to private developers and other government officials whilst we continue to struggle as allodia owners of the property” Nii Klahbalo II angrily stated.
