Bawumiah’s Assurance Of Illegalizing Homosexuality Is Vain Campaign Promise – Clergy

A prominent member of the clergy and minister in charge of the Holy Church of Bethlehem at Gomoa Akropong in the Central Region, Rev. Isaac Ansah has described the recent assurance by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumiah that he will illegalize the practice of homosexuality in the country when voted into office as the next president, as a vain campaign promise calculated to win the votes of the people.

Speaking in an interview with Ghananews247Online.com, Rev. Ansah also questioned Dr. Bawumiah’s claim that as vice president, he only served as just the ” driver’s mate”, and that when given the nod as the president, he will steer the affairs of the economy to make living condition in the country better.

But, according to Rev. Isaac Ansah, as the “driver’s mate” as claimed by Dr. Bawumiah, was stopped him from calling his “driver” Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo to order when he was steering the affairs of the country into a ditch, but rather turn round to plead with Ghanaians to allow him to steer the affairs of the country.

He said such statements are just mere rhetoric and desperation that must not be taken seriously by any well-meaning Ghanaian. However, he calls on the electorates to vote on the principles of pragmatic working policies, not on political party affiliation.
