FootballYusif Abubakar has passed on after a short illness on Tuesday morning.
Abubakar, who is the current coach of the Black Meteors (Ghana U23) , was confirmed dead at the Kwame Nkrumah University hospital after battling a short illness.
According to a source close to the family told, “Coach [Yusif Abubakar is no more, he passed on a few hours ago at the Tech Hospital.”
“Per the Islamic laws, he will be buried today and other arrangements will be communicated to the general public.”
The 60-year-old will be buried today in Kumasi per the Islamic laws.
He trained clubs like Aduana Stars, Accra Hearts of Oak, Berekum Chelsea, Kpando Heat of Lions and Medeama.
He was named SWAG coach of the year after winning the Ghana Premier League and leading Aduana to Africa.
He was supposed to build a team to play in the African U23 competition and also qualify Ghana to the Olympic Games in Japan in 2020.
