The Deputy Minister of Health who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda constituency in the Birim Central Municipality Eastern Region, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has sponsored a STEM-focused trip for 200 basic school students from the Birim Central Municipality to the Suhum Omenako Zipline Center.
The trip was inspired by Education Director Mrs. Esther Quaye Sowah, the trip aimed to motivate students to pursue math, science, and technology.
Addressing the media, Hon. Acquah praised His Excellence Dr. Bawumia the Vice president of Ghana who is also NPP presidential candidates for the upcoming election for the country’s drone initiative and urged students to share their experience with their parents.
He emphasized the importance of STEM education, encouraging students to take it seriously as it offers practical skills for the future.
The Deputy Minister pledged to work towards establishing a STEM school in Akyem Oda.
He urged the students to talk to their parents so that they can vote for His Excellence Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming election so that he can continue with the good work he is doing for the country.
Mrs. Quaye Sowah, Director of Education, encouraged girls to pursue math and science without fear. She highlighted the practicality of the current curriculum and thanked Hon. Acquah for his support.
The students expressed gratitude to the Deputy Minister for his unwavering support.
