The Member of Parliament for the Agona East constituency in the Central Region, Queenstar Maame Pokua Sawyer has advised youth in the area who have adopted the habit of using the social media to spread negative stories about the area to desist from the practice, as according to her, that turns sends negative impression to the outside world, and therefore could impede the development of the area.
Speaking at the enstoolment of a new Chief for Mankron Nkwanta Nana Onoma Amoako Ababio V, the Member of Parliament condemn the practice in no uncertain terms, describing it as a calculated attempt by some to make the NDC government unpopular to achieve their parochial interest.
She recounted numerous developmental projects undertaken by the Mahama administration across the country, from infrastructure to job creation, and therefore expressed surprise why some people will still allow themselves to be used to spread fake news through social media in the name of blogging.
She therefore advised all such people, particularly the youth to desist from the practice, as that will not bring any development to the area.
