The Director General of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Health, Mr. Ben Ampomah Nkansah, has advised management of health facilities in Ghana to prioritize regular maintenance. During an interview with the media after visiting the Akyem Oda Government Hospital to explore ways to improve the facility, Mr. Nkansah emphasized that the government invests significantly in health infrastructure, and therefore, facility managers must ensure proper upkeep.

He commended the Akyem Oda Government Hospital’s management for their efforts despite facing challenges, and encouraged them to continue working hard.

He hinted at a forthcoming massive facelift of the facility.

Dr. Felix Aseidu, the acting superintendent of the hospital, highlighted the numerous challenges they face and appealed to the government for support to address these issues.

He assured that the hospital staff would do their part to ensure quality healthcare delivery, but required government assistance to overcome the challenges.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Birim Central Municipality, Hon. Joyce Adwoa Agyeiwa, advised the hospital’s management to closely monitor the facility’s operations, enabling them to address issues within their capacity and maintain the facility’s functionality.
