The Emmanuel Co-Operative Credit Unin {ECCU] has put in place Prudent, Pragmatic and Purposeful {PPP} mechanism as measures to help improve its performance activity base.
This was disclosed by the Chairperson of the Union, Ms. Agnes Acquah during its 11th Annual General Meeting and 1Oth Anniversary celebration in Agona Swedru on the theme: ”Our Memories of Yesterday, Our Joy of Today, Our Hope of Tomorrow.’
She again hinted that as part of efforts to achieve this, the Union has embarked on numerous educational campaigns to various groups, churches, institutions and villages in an attempt to convert Susu contributors to full membership.
Rated among the Ten Best Credit Unions in the Central Region, Ms. Acquah further disclosed that the Total Assets of the Union in the Year under review increased to about eighteen percent.
But despite this success, the Chairperson urged members of the Union to inculcate the habit of regular savings and loans repayment, to improve the performance base of the Union.
She noted that the Union’s Board of Directors have resolved to pay a dividend of ten percent on membership shares and savings effective June ending, subject to approval.
She later assured that the Board intends to intensify its vigilance and supervision on all its branches in Kasoa, Bawjiase and Mankessim, so as to increase its membership strength and improve its Capital base.
As part of its 30th Anniversary celebration, the Union has already donated 30 LED streets lights to communities in the Agona Swedru Municipality.
