The headmistress of El-Shaddai Junior High school Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipal Assembly Eastern Region Mr’s. Victoria Adu has called on Government and philanthropist to come to their aid and roof their school building for them.
The roofing sheet of the school was ripped of this year March 2017 by a rainstorm that hit part of the Eastern Region.
The Headmistress of El-Shaddai Junior High School Mr’s Victoria Adu in an interview with Ghananews247.com stated that this Year March a heavy rainstorm hit the community and destroys properties,their school was not left, luckily for them it was Saturday so no students was affected.
According to her the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the Oda constituency Hon William Agyepon Quaittoo has visit the school and promise to rebuild the school for them but up till now they have not see anything.
Mr’s Victoria Adu said the school needs very urgent attention because when ever it’s cloudy they stop classes because of fear of rain fall and it is affecting studies also when ever then sun is shining is very difficult for the students to learn.
She said they used to hire canopy to save the situation small but now they are having financial difficulties so they appeal to government and philanthropist to come to their aid and build the school for them.
Mr Charles Koramoah Assistant Headmaster of The school said they go through a lot when ever it’s rain unexpectedly because they can’t break the students to go home so they have to allow the students sit on the rain and wait till it stops before they allow them to go home.
He said because of the rain they have lost most of their texts books so he call on government to give very urgent attention to the situation for them.
