Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has performed the Islamic rituals of Ummah in Saudi Arabia.
The GFA supremo joined the Islamic contingent of the Black Stars and the management team to participate in the Islamic cleansing ahead of the Black Stars game tomorrow.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, who reverted to the Islamic religion aged in the Upper west region, was spotted in the full regalia of the Islamic garments performing the rituals alongside the assistant manager of the Black Stars , Ibrahim Tanko. Known in the Islamic sector as Osman, the newly elected CAF vice president once led the Ghana Muslim Student’s Association (GMSA) in his days at Wa Senior Secondary School in the early 90s.
As the owner and bank roller of Wa All Stars FC, Kwesi Osman Nyantakyi grew up in Kabanye, a section in the Wa Township, and has played instrumental roles in the sporting and religious sectors in the region. The elder sister of Nyantakyi performs Hajj last year and is a staunched Muslim as well.
The Black Stars take on Saudi Arabia in a friendly match tomorrow after missing out on ticket to Russia for next year’s FIFA world cup.
