Ghana to Host the Third Edition of Africa Energy Technology Conference

Ghana will host over 1,500 energy delegates from more than 30 countries at the Africa Energy Technology Conference from May 19 to 21 in Accra.

The third edition of the Africa Energy Technology Conference (AETC) takes place at the Labadi Beach Hotel under the theme “From Borders to Bridges: Driving Intra-African Trade and Development through Energy and Technology Services.” The Africa Energy Technology Centre is organising the event in partnership with Ghana’s Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.

President John Dramani Mahama is confirmed to attend, underlining Ghana’s strategic ambition to position itself as West Africa’s primary gateway for energy technology transformation. Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will deliver the opening keynote address and host the Gala Dinner and Trade Awards Ceremony on the first evening.

The three-day programme covers policy harmonisation and cross-border finance on day one, intra-African trade and workforce mobility on day two, and energy technology education alongside a dedicated youth spotlight session on day three. Special forums for Women in Energy and critical minerals will also feature throughout the event.

Continental and international leaders attending include Mozambique’s President Daniel Francisco Chapo, Angola’s President João Lourenço, African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretary-General Wamkele Mene, and Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, among others.

“We are moving beyond dialogues,” said Emelia Akumah, President and Founder of the Africa Energy Technology Centre.

The conference frames Africa not as a frontier market but as an emerging manufacturing and technology hub, positioning the intersection of digital connectivity and the AfCFTA as the key to unlocking unprecedented continental value in the energy sector.

Registration remains open for delegates, exhibitors and sponsors at www.aetconference.com.
