The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has begun efforts to unravel the mystery behind the gruesome murder of Mrs. Josephine Asante, its Public Affairs and Marketing Manager.
IIn view of this, GPHA is offering a bounty of GH¢50,000.00 to anyone who would volunteer information to the police that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the murderers of the Late Josephine Asante.
In a press release signed by the Acting Director General of the GPHA, Michael Luguje, he indicated that the company will engage all resources available to ensure that the perpetrators of that heinous crime are apprehended and “made to face the full rigors of the laws of the country. The GPHA is committed to assisting and hastening the investigative process of the Police by offering the above stated amount as a reward for any person(s) or group that will provide the first meaningful information to the Police which will lead to the arrest and conviction of the murderer(s) of Mrs. Josephine Asante. “
The late Mrs. Josephine Asante was murdered in cold blood in the early hours of Sunday, January 13, 2019at her Emef Estate residence in Afieny, a suburb of the Greater Accra Region.
Michael Luguje stated that:” We at the Ghana Ports and Hanour Authority will like to express our sincere appreciation to the general public and the nation, for your support in the trying times as we mourn the untimely departure of one of our distinguished managers who has served the Authority with dedication, commitment and professionalism. “
He noted that the GPHA is urging the general public to “remain calm and engage the matter with some level of circumspection out of respect for the deceased, Mrs. Josephine Asante, her spouse, children, relations, friends, and colleagues while allowing the Law Enforcement Agencies to take control of the situation.”
Meanwhile the Tema Regional Police Command is undertaking investigations into the murder.
The GPHA has however provided contact numbers 0244942144, 0244536056, 0299200147 for people to call in the events that they have relevant information that will aide the investigative process.
