The Deputy Minister of Information who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency in the Eastern Region Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as part of effort to strengthen education system in the country has given Two Hundred brilliant students in Ofoase Ayirebi constituency scholarship for one academic year.
Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah launching his Oppong Nkrumah Education and skills development Fund (ONESDEV) gives scholarship to Thirty Eight University students, Thirty One Nursing and Training College students and One Hundred and Thirty One Senior High School student.
Speaking at the launch The Deputy Minister of Information Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated that free Education has come to help strengthen education level in the country.
He urged the beneficiaries not to play with their lessons in school but rather study very had so that next academic year when they are given another scholarship they will qualify for that.
Hon Kojo Nkrumah encourage the Parents of the beneficiaries to advice their children to study had because if they don’t perform well or misbehave in their various schools they will not be considered in the next academic year.
He ask the residents of the constituency to pray for Nana Akuffo Addo so that whatever he has promise to do for the nation he will deliver and also ask them to pray for him too so all the promises he made to the constituency he deliver them successfully.
The Chief of Kotokuom Obrempong Boakye Akoto who was the chairmen during the launching thank Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for delivering one of the promises he made during 2016 election campaign time.
According to him this is the first time he is seeing such initiative in the constituency.
He urged the Member of Parliament to continue with the wonderful work he is doing in the District.
The District Education Director of Akyemansa District Madam Amanor Elizabeth asks parent to encourage their children to study had so that they can maintain their scholarship.
The District Chief Executive Officer of the Akyemansa District Hon Paul Asamoah thanks the MP for supporting students in the district.
