The Chief of Gomoa Tarkwa in the Central Region, Nana Atta Kwakwa Egyir Opusu VII has advised the two main political parties in the country, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to work towards eschewing any form of violence before, during and after the upcoming general elections, to ensure the continuous peace that the country is enjoying.
Nana Kwakwa Opusu who is known in private life as Chief Supt. Anthony Arthur, Director of Budget at the Police Headquarters further warned that as Chief of Gomoa Tarkwa, he will not entertain any form of violence in the area, stressing that anyone caught in perpetrating such acts will be made to be dealt with by the law.
He gave the warning during his installation and swearing of oath of allegiance to the Chiefs and people of the town.
He also bemoaned the bad nature of the only major road leading to the town, and called on the government to come to their aid.
He again admonished indigenes of the town living elsewhere to make it a l need to come home occasionally, particularly during festival celebrations and contribute in either kind or cash towards the development of the town.
Born to Mr. John Yaw Ofori Arthur from the Royal Anona clan and Maame Diana Appiah also from the Royal Asona clan, both of blessed memory, Nana Atta Kwakwa Egyir. Opusu had his Primary and Middle school education at Gomoa Tarkwa, and continued at Sekondi College in the Western Region for his Secondary education.
He currently holds numerous academic qualifications including Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy, Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM), Master of Business Administration (MBA FINANCE), Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA & AICPA), as well as Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), among others.
