“I’m for development, not meddling in chieftaincy affairs” – Birim Central MCE.

“Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako, popularly known as Kofi Poyoyo, the Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, has stated that he was appointed by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to bring development to the municipality, not to meddle in chieftaincy affairs.

After being confirmed as MCE, he told the media that rumors about him installing a chief in Akyem Oda were untrue.

He explained that chieftaincy disputes have deterred investors, and many politicians have exacerbated the issue.

Hon. Brako emphasized that his goal is to collaborate with all stakeholders to bring development to the municipality.

He promised to work with the Member of Parliament to lobby for jobs and to give the Akyem Oda government hospital a facelift, in partnership with the MP, assembly members, and traditional authorities.

As one of the youngest MCEs, Hon. Brako urged the youth and everyone to support him in his role, noting that it’s the first time a youth under 40 years has been given this opportunity to steer the municipality’s affairs.”
