Accra, New York, Paris, Lagos — Ghana’s niche fragrance house, Maison Yusif, has announced the upcoming global release of its latest creation, “The Beast,” set to launch this summer across key markets including the United States, Ghana, Paris, and Nigeria.
Developed by master perfumer Yusif Jnr Meizongo, “The Beast” goes beyond a traditional scent. It reflects a story rooted in loyalty, creativity, and genuine human connection. The inspiration stems from a strong bond between Meizongo and Mohamet Mbayi, popularly known as SWAGGY Mo, whose sincere and consistent reviews helped introduce Maison Yusif to a wider global audience of fragrance enthusiasts.
The fragrance is described as a tribute, capturing appreciation for authentic support within an industry often shaped by trends rather than originality.
Crafted in Ghana, “The Beast” features a bold composition built around oud, enriched with spicy and aromatic layers. It is designed to challenge and redefine global perceptions of oriental fragrances, presenting a confident and refined expression of African perfumery. Its depth and structure position it as a standout creation within the modern oud category.
Speaking on the release, Meizongo noted that the fragrance represents more than a product, describing it as a reflection of strength, loyalty, and the unseen forces that influence success.
The project was developed through a collaborative effort within Maison Yusif’s creative team. Suweiba Shardow, a key figure in the brand’s female olfaction division since 2023, contributed her expertise in refining accords and has represented the brand internationally, including at a Dubai fragrance expo in 2024.
Abdul Rashid Yusif Meizongo played an important role within the men’s olfaction sector, contributing rare and distinctive raw materials used in the fragrance’s composition. Kamran Muhammad, who joined in 2024, supported the technical process as head lab technician while also managing the Kokomlemle branch.
The name “The Beast” was conceptualized by the brand’s general manager, Baidawi Shamhuna, as early as 2023. Mahmud Yaro Yusif further contributed by shaping the final packaging concept, ensuring the visual identity reflects the strength and character of the fragrance.
With growing anticipation across fragrance communities, Maison Yusif presents “The Beast” as a significant milestone for the brand and a strong statement for African perfumery on the global stage.
As the summer launch draws closer, attention continues to build. Early reactions suggest that “The Beast” could make a notable impact in the market.
