My Aim Is To Leave A Lasting Legacy–Head teacher

The Head teacher of AWMA ‘E’ Basic School in Agona Swedru, Ms. Lucy Duker has said her aim is to leave a lasting legacy in the school before she goes on retirement.

She gave this hint during the 30th Anniversary celebration and 1st Speech and Prize-Giving Day held by the school since she took over as the Head teacher.

Under her tenure, the school is said to have chalked various successes in both academic and sports, currently adjudged as one of the best Basic schools in the Central Region. But despite these success, the school is faced with challenges, including a complete Computer laboratory where the students will learn and be abreast with the growing trend of Information Technology (I.T.).

Addressing the gathering, the Head teacher, Ms. Lucy Duker commended the former Member of Parliament, Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison for her immense contribution to the construction of the Computer laboratory, but called on other benevolent individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the school by providing it computers and accessories to help the students in their learning.

She however disclosed that despite these challenge, the school has produced quality students who have gained admission into the various tertiary institutions, with majority of its products also serving in various capacities in the country and abroad.
