Pokua Sawyerr To Launch Campaign

NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East Constituecy of the Central Region, Mrs Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr will on Sunday September 8, 2019 launch her political campaign for the 2020 general elections, with an assurance to retain the seat for the NDC again.

This attest to the fact that Mrs Sawyerr was the first incumbent MP on the ticket of the NDC for the 2020 election to unveil her political campaign to outline her vision for the people in the area.

Speaking in an interview with some journalists yesterday, the NDC female lawmaker noted that the launch would serve as the platform for her to thank the chiefs and people of Agona East for their total support in helping her to bring socio-economic developmental projects to the area.

She asserted that she would also use the occasion to explain to the people the structure of “our governance system and the efforts of Members of Parliament in lobbying and securing socioeconomic development projects for their various constituencies.

Mrs Sawyerr admonished the people in the area to stay away from politics of insults and vindictiveness.

She urged them to disregard the governing New Patrotic Party (NPP) government’s claim of ownership of former President John Dramani Mahama’s projects in the towns within the onstituency.

Earlier, Mr Sawyerr noted that she donated GH¢3,000 and 100 bags of cement to support market project of the people of Agona Mensakrom which was the center of attraction on t25th August, 2019 when her constituency executives had graced the thanksgiving service to climax Agona Mensakrom this year’s annual Akwambo Festival.

In addition, she added that an undisclosed amount was given to the chiefs to help defray the cost of the organisation of the festival.
