SOSA To Go To Aid Of Alma Mater

The Old Students of Swedru Business Senior High School (SOSA) have reaffirmed their commitment to support their alma mater by revamping the Association so as to helping provide the basic needs confronting the school.

As part of efforts to ensure that this vision is achieved the old students during the weekend organized a Home Coming that saw the various year groups, both young and old participating in the programme and sharing their life experience with the new students.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Association Mr. Michael Elis Dokosi who briefed the media on some of the steps being taken to address some of the challenges facing the school admitted that though the Association has been dormant for some time now, but he however stressed that members of the Association have resolved to come together as a common body to support their school.

He hinted that despite their fragmentation, some individual old students have contributed contributed their quota immensely to the development of the school.

The Association also commended the Headmaster of the School, Mr. Justice Kojo Frimpong who is also an old student of the school for putting in place mechanism to ensure that the school attains the status it deserves as a Senior High School since he took over the administration of the school barely two months ago.

A former Member of Parliament for the area who is also an old student of the school, Lawyer Obeng Inkoom appealed to old students both home and abroad to assist the school in cash or in kind to make to make life a little bearable for younger students in the school.

He was said to have led the course to ensure that compensation due the traditional rulers who released land for the establishment of the school were paid.

But he expressed concern about the spate of encroachment of the over sixty acre land, and called for support from the old students to help construct a wall around the land to protect it from further encroachment by developers.

He was also said to have used his own resources to refurbish some buildings of the school for several years.
