A dramatic new twist has emerged in the ongoing Tse-Addo land dispute, as members of the Ataa Tawiah Tsinaiatse and Nuumo Ofoli Kwashie families have accused sections of the police and military of supporting illegality following a forceful operation on the disputed land.
The latest development follows the arrest of Adolph Tetteh Adjei CEO of Sapholda Ventures and a land developer, over alleged death threats against Mr. Hermes Quaye and some members of the allodial families on March 1, 2026.
According to accounts from the allodial owners, a sister of Adjei, who was reportedly granted police bail on Sunday, March 2, 2026, stormed the disputed property with more than five pickup vehicles loaded with uniformed military and police personnel. The group is alleged to have assaulted family members who were peacefully going about their lawful activities on the land.
Sources indicate that the incident occurred at a time when the parties involved in the dispute, including Adolph Tetteh Adjei, were at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command at the invitation of the Regional Commander to present proof of ownership documents.
Members of the allodial families, together with some private developers within the Tse-Addo enclave, have openly questioned the neutrality of the security agencies. They argue that it is deeply troubling for state security forces to provide operational backing to a party who has reportedly lost both a High Court ruling in November 2025 and a subsequent appellate decision delivered on February 11, 2026.
The families are demanding answers from both the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly personnel said to be attached to the 64 Infantry Regiment of the Ghana Army, over what they describe as the sanctioning of a lawless and illegal action. They insist that the opposing party lacks the legal standing to lay claim to the acres of land in contention.
Reports further suggest that some members of the allodial families were arrested during the operation and are currently being held at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command. Meanwhile, the main accused person in the dispute is alleged to be moving freely under security protection.
The latest incident has reportedly heightened tension within the Tse-Addo enclave, leaving developers and residents in a state of shock and fear.
As of press time, neither the Ghana Police Service nor the Ghana Armed Forces had issued an official statement on the matter.
