The University of Ghana Business School has donated GHC 10,000 to the Universities’ Sports Directorate.
The donation was at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on the final day of the track and field events at this year’s Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
Presenting the cheque, leader of the delegation from the Business School, Prof. Justice Bawole mentioned that the Sports Directorate of the University was doing a great job, and as such, found it necessary to support them.
Prof. Bawole, who is the Dean for the Business School, further said that the efforts by the Sports Directorate in organizing this year’s GUSA Games is evident of the Directorate’s efforts.
He said that the donation was part of UGBS’ Corporate Social Responsibilities.
Receiving the cheque, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, who is also a Co-Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the 2020 GUSA Games, was appreciative of the gesture.
She also called for more support for the Directorate to help it further enhance the fitness, health, well-being and holistic development of members of the University community.
The delegation from the Business School included Mr. Emmanuel Poku Sarkodie and Prof. Richard Boateng.
Registrar of the University, Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia, Director of the Sports Directorate, Dr. Bella Bello Betugu, and the Assistant Registrar (UG Sports Directorate), Mrs. Regina Afari-Boateng, were all present at the brief ceremony.
