The Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipality, Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako, has said the Assembly will go after those who deal in illegal drugs in the Municipality.
The MCE, in his address during the presentation of equipment to artisans in the Municipality, stated that some youth have engaged in illicit drug use, which is destroying them and requires urgent attention.
According to him, if the police arrest those selling the drugs, some people insult the police and politicians and say a lot of things.
He noted that if they were selling legal things, nobody would go after them.
Sometimes people claim it is out of envy that those selling drugs are making money. But that is not the case — they are destroying the future of the people.
He observed that because of illegal drugs, some youth have become lazy. Even when given work to do, they feel reluctant to wake up early and work, which is worrying.
He assured those selling drugs to the people that, no matter what, the authorities will go after them, so they should be ready.
