The Assembly Member for Kyeremi No. 1, in the Birim Central Municipality Eastern Region, Hon. Ayuba, has called on government to intervene and dredge the Birim River.

Parts of Kyeremi No. 1, Akyem Oda Zongo, and other areas of Akyem Oda were flooded following heavy rains.
Speaking to Oyerepa TV, the Assembly Member said this is the first time since 2010 they have experienced flooding of this scale.
According to him, the river is silted and urgently needs dredging.
He appealed to government to act quickly to prevent future disasters.
