“Shake Up: Dr Bawumia Fires Arrogant Dennis Aboagye From His Team

NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has restructured his office as the party prepares for its return from opposition, with former Campaign Communications Director Dennis Aboagye being a major casualty.

The exclusion of ‘Miracles’ as he is affectionately called comes to party footsoldiers as welcome news for varied reasons.

” Serial callers are grateful to Dr Bawumia for reshuffling Dennis out. He didn’t value our contribution to the campaign. We need someone who understands local communication” a serial callers said on a local radio station in Accra.

Miracles has in recent times suffered reputational damage as both insiders and outsiders consider him as “arrogant and self-seeking”. His recent social media spat with Franklin Cudjoe has been widely condemned as unnecessary.

Dr Bawumia in the statement also appointed former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as the Chief of Staff.

The move forms part of Dr. Bawumia’s first major organisational changes since leading the NPP into opposition. The former Vice-President announced a team of experienced party strategists and communicators to coordinate his office’s political, policy and communications work.

The new appointments are:
1. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu – Chief of Staff
2. Opare Ansah – Director, Identifiable Groups
3. Peter Mac Manu – Director, Political Strategy
4. Fred Oware – Political Advisor
5. Nana Akomea – Director, Communication and Branding
6. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah – Policy Coordination, assisted by Evon Hughes
7. Anthony Abayifa Karbo – Director, Organisation and Youth Inclusion
8. Dr. Ekua Amoako – Spokesperson

Party insiders describe the appointments as a blend of experience and generational balance, bringing together veterans who managed NPP campaigns in 2008, 2012 and 2016 alongside younger communicators.

The restructuring comes as Dr. Bawumia begins consultations with party stakeholders on rebuilding the NPP’s structures, messaging and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the next election cycle.
