Awoshie A-Lang Wins 2018 Sallah Cup Trophy

 

A-Lang soccer team won the 2018 edition of the Sallah Cup after beating Town Council Line (TCL) team 2-0 at the Town Council Line park in Accra.

A-Lang team scored in the 18th minutes of the first-half 31st minutes of the second-half respectively to win the well arranged Sallah Cup organised by the Youth Chief of A-Lang, Sarki Mohammed Bonkano.

A-Lang team created numerous chances in the opening quarter of the game but the attackers generously let TCL team off the hook.

TCL team should have taken the lead in the 7th and 21st minutes but the defenders of A-Lang were resolute in most parts of the first-half to curb the situation for their side.

In the early minutes of the second-half, it was A-Lang team who had the first chance as TCL defense failed to deal with a goal-mouth melee and the ball fell to A-Lang striker who fired wide to the disappointment of the fans.

TCL team gradually settled into the game but keeper for A-Lang had to be at his best to save the dangerous incursions by the TCL strikers.

Handing over the trophy to the A-Lang team, the chief of A-Lang ,Sarki Adamu Wala, also known as Sarki Namadina, advised both teams to take their training seriously to enable them have the opportunity to play for the national teams in the near future.

This, he called on various football stakeholders to turn their focus on the Zongo youth as they have the talents and skills to play for the various national teams.

On his part, the Chief of Town Council Line, Alhaji Numo Suleman Wangabi, congratulated the A-Lang team for winning the Sallah Cup and called for a re-match.
