Aspiring Assembly Member Vows To Fight Crime In His Area

An aspiring Assembly member for Abronye, Fire Service, Odum Estate electoral area in Agona Swedru in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region, Bismarck Eyiah has said the high rate of crime in the area is a major concern to the people and has promised to liaise with the police and the youth in the area to form a community watch committee to curb the menace.

He has further assured to lobby the Assembly and the Highway Authority to construct speed ramps on parts of the roads in the area to control over speeding vehicles, which he said poses serious threat to the people, especially the aged and school children.

He gave this assurance during an interview with Ghananews247.com on his ambition to contest for the position as an Assembly member.

A great grandson of the late presidential candidate and founder of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) Mr. Dan Lartey and a relative of the Member of Parliament for the Gomoa Central Constituency Naana Eyiah Quansah, Bismarck Eyiah who is a a Civil Engineer by profession said as part of his contribution to the development of his area, he has constructed some foot bridges at vantage points in the area for easy passage.

Though he decline to comment whether he has future political ambitions, he however disclosed that his primary objective is to help in the development of his area.
