The founder and leader of the Great Fire Tabernacle Church, Prophet Okofo Fire has debunked the assertion held by medical expects that suicide is a state of mind and as such must be considered a psychiatric problem, noting that every suicide case is linked to spiritual attack that could have been better explained by people who take their life.
According to him, though people might see the incident as a mental problem because they might not be experiencing the same attack the victim may be going through, he stressed that under such circumstance, the victims acts under the instruction of spirits as they are commanded.
Commenting on the rising incidents of suicide cases, Prophet Okofo Fire further cited instances where people described as with mental problems could be seen talking and laughing, and even fighting with themselves, noting that under such circumstances, such people are seeing things in the spiritual realm where the ordinary person can not see, and as such they are labeled as losing their senses.
Citing Biblical examples, Prophet Okofo Fire pointed out that the first person to commit suicide on earth, Judas Iscariot by hanging himself after betraying Jesus Christ took that decision under the influence of spirit, further pointing out that even Jesus himself would have committed suicide if had jumped from the top of the tower and thrown himself down when he was tempted by the devil, by trying to use the scripture to deceive him.
He hinted that anybody who has survived a suicide attempt will attest to this fact he took the decision under the influence and command of spirit, and has therefore urged medical experts to begin to see the incident as a spiritual problem than a mental health issue.
