The minister in charge of the First Century Gospel Church in Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region, Pastor Seth Ankomah has debunked the assertion held by some that the high rate of crime in the world, as compared to previous years, is a result of failure on the part of religious organizations to preach against crime, but rather preaching prosperity.
According to him, the high rate of crime, which he said, has become a global phenomenon, is a result of over population where people have developed all manner of criminal schemes to outwit society, but not as a result of failure on the part of religious organizations to preach against it, as believed by many.
He further attributed the development to the invention and introduction of sophisticated technological devices that aid criminals to carry out such activities.
Though he pointed out that crime has been an old-age practice since creation, he however noted that society is becoming much more vulnerable to the practice, and blamed the situation on overpopulation.
